This section is intended for teachers working in STEAM education. They will be able to present their projects that integrate science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics and compete for the opportunity to gain support and implement their ideas.

MEGA SUMO TOURNAMENT

In this exciting tournament, participants will be able to show their skills in creating and controlling sumo robots. The battles will take place on a special field, and the main rule is to stay within the circle of the designated field.

In this section we will combine science and art to show their relationship. Participants will be able to get acquainted with art objects that embody scientific and technical ideas. The section program will also include master classes on isolating DNA, creating electroacoustic instruments, and a series of lectures talking about what is happening at the intersection of science and art at the international level and in Kazakhstan.

What is STEAM ?

Teaching methods based on the principles of multidisciplinarity (when topics or subjects are studied not separately, but together, thereby helping to see logical connections and similarities), and learning based on real life problems.

STEAM subjects, which traditionally include mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, robotics and some social sciences (sociology, psychology, etc.), although STEAM methods can be applied to any discipline.

STEAM professions. Usually, these include specialists from science, technological fields, and engineering. However, all multidisciplinary professions that require skills at the intersection of several disciplines and for which there is an increasing demand in the work market also belong to STEAM.

A set of skills that are developed using STEAM techniques. These include science, mathematical, critical and creative thinking, research and presentation skills, digital literacy, teamwork, and time management.

STEAM is translated from English (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics).
